Solid State Cultivation (Koji Making)
There are two types of microorganism culture, fluid culture and solid culture.
Previously, solid culture was more complicated than fluid culture and preventing contamination was difficult. For this equipment, microorganisms are agitated without contamination on the rotary culture bed where aseptic air is supplied, so aerated solid culture without contamination has been realized. With this equipment, it is now possible to make the most of solid culture’s advantages.
Since the invention of this equipment, we have gotten about 20 patents and utility model rights for solid cultivator.
1. Inside the cultivating tank, pressurized steaming sterilization and cooling of culture medium is possible.
2. Due to the rotary culture bed and a special agitating blade, agitation can be done evenly to the culture bed surface.
3. Solid culture of microorganisms is done by aseptic air with controlled temperature and humidity.
4. Aseptic manipulation is possible for inoculation, agitation during culture, addition of water, sampling, and drying.
5. Unattended operation is possible by a computer control.
6. Main parts of the equipment are stainless-steel made, and detailed parts of the equipment can be easily cleaned and sterilized from a microbiological point of view.
